Day 10: After the kitchen crew's second Sunday working on our kitchen, it's almost complete. Just gotta find a microwave and move the fridge to the right a quarter inch so the left door opens. Then it's time to start dusting :-).
Day 10: The under cabinet lights really set the mood. We may just eat off the counters from now on. Still waiting for the new phone jack, dimmer light switch, and dishwasher to be installed.
Day 10: On the left, one of many trash piles the crew has deposited throughout the house. Clean up day should be tomorrow.
Day 9: Backsplash installed
Day 9: Tile floor installed
Day 9: Hood installed
Day 7: The countertops are installed ahead of schedule
Day 7: It's hard to capture exactly what the countertop looks like since it changes in different light... you'll just have to come over and see
Day 7: I'm not sure we could get many more colors in this picture. Who would have thought maple wood with granite counter tops, accented with red, orange, green, off white, grey/blue, and white would look so good.
Day 6: All the cabinets around the sink are installed.
Day 6: The pantry is finally installed. It easily holds a spare wife or a stockpile of food incase of the bird flu.
Day 6: An awkward photo moment - the cabinets are caught without their drawers.
Day 5: There's still quite a mess.
Day 5: It's all starting to come together...
Day 5: Making room for the new fridge. Drawers look naked without their hardware.
Day 5: More cabinets hoisted (and future location of the stove). Wasted space taken up by exhaust vent is almost completely recovered in new kitchen.
Day 4: Wall cabinets unpacked and ready to be hoisted into position
Day 4: Wall cabinets post hoisting procedures (very technical)
Day 4: Vent moved and light cans installed
Day 2: Can we watch the game at your house?
Day 2: If you squint really hard, you can see our new sink
Day 2: They promise it will look good when finished. Well, more accurately, they promise muy bien.
Day 2: Cabinets arrive to an already over crowded house
Day 2: Hol(e)y Kitchen. Wiring goes in for overhead and under cabinet lighting
Day 1: After 18 years of service, the cabinets left with the dignity and honor they deserved... Actually they just stacked them in the front yard for the garbage truck to pick up in the morning.
Day 1: It was quick and merciful
Day 1: We've been robbed!
Day before demo day
